About Celeste
I have over 10 years of educational advising, guidance counseling and college and career counseling experience in the high schools setting, assisting hundreds of students on their post high school journeys. I have worked as a transitional coach for students with special needs where I had the opportunity to teach life skills and on the job training through internship programs. My approach to college counseling is based upon the belief that the college selection process is the perfect time for young adults to start thinking about what they are seeking in their educational, personal and professional journeys. I work holistically with students to explore career and major options, build college lists, and walk them through the whole application process, start to finish. With a background in guidance counseling, I am also well versed in choosing the right high school, college and dual enrollment courses to work toward goals.
While I am a California native, I have lived up and down the California Coast, as well as on Long Island, New York, and San Juan, Puerto Rico as a Coast Guard spouse. Currently I live among the redwood trees in beautiful Humboldt County, CA. I have three school aged sons who are often in tow as I take the family along on college visits while traveling.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree from University of CA, Santa Cruz, and a Masters degree in Education with a Pupil Personnel Services Credential (Guidance Counseling) from San Jose State University. I am also an Associate Member of the Independent Educational Consultant Association (professional), and am enrolled at University of CA, Irvine’s Independent Educational Consultant Certificate Program.
